My Plans During Self Isolation

It’s an uncertain time for all of us, it’s a bit like the rug being pulled from underneath you and every ounce of normality and day to day is gone. It’s taken me a while to adjust to not working, over two weeks in, I’m finally getting used to self isolating under lockdown.

There is a lot of conflicting information at the moment about what to do during this pandemic. The best thing is to stay at home and follow government guidelines, which is exactly what I have been doing. I thought I’d share what my plans are from lockdown, as it’s important to keep busy in this time and keep a sense of routine.

I’m already a homebody and introvert so I don’t mind staying at home but I do like to socialise as a way to keep happy. Not having a routine has really put me out of alignment so I am working to get some of that back. Here are a few things I plan on doing in the coming months…

Rest and Reset – I had been feeling very overwhelmed with life before the lockdown, so this is kind of a blessing in disguise as I can take some time to rest and just pratice some self care. Going back to basics is likely going to do me a lot of good.

Reading – My ‘to be read’ pile is neverending and I’m planning on putting a real dent in it. I love reading and I never make enough time to do it, so I’m going to put aside some time each day to pick that novel up and enjoy it.

Declutter – I am a slight hoarder (admitting it here and now) and I own way too many things. I’m going to reduce the amount I own and get my Marie Kondo on!

Dusting off the typewriter – I love my typewriter and I just do not get it out enough, I’m going to get it out and start writing. I have been writing to write a novel for a long time, so now is the ideal time to start.

Everything that is going on in the world is scary, but it’s about coming together and making the best of a bad situation. Hopefully once this is all over, we can all come back stronger and reset.
